National Cadet Corps (NCC) teaches discipline, values, and it develops a sense of defending the motherland from adversaries amongst the cadets. It builds a strong character and helps the cadets to be future leaders, therefore, there is a concept of having NCC wings in the schools, colleges and universities in our country and HAPS, Hira Nagar is not an exception. For holistic development of students and fulfilling its obligations towards the society and the nation, the school has been running a well-organized NCC Wing since 2010. Around 50 cadets including boys and girls are enrolled every year drawn from classes 8th and 9th. NCC wing HAPS works under 4 HP (I) Company NCC Hamirpur. Every year it organizes Annual Training Camp for the school NCC cadets where number of activities like marching parade, small arms firing, community service and cultural programmes are organised. Apart from participating in annual training camp, our NCC cadets participate in the parade on national festivals like Independence Day, Republic Day and state level event like Himachal Day etc. NCC cadets are awarded NCC A certificate on completion of their two years training which help them join Indian Armed Forces. It also helps groom students into highly disciplined, courageous, adventurous, patriotic and potential future leaders.
